ABOUT
Stagecoach is one of the UK’s largest bus operators, serving communities across East Kent, East Sussex and into West Kent, including Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells.
THE BRIEF
As a visible part of daily life, frontline colleagues regularly interact with the public. Increasingly, they also face incidents of verbal and physical abuse.
Stagecoach briefed us to create content for a Zero Tolerance campaign that would clearly communicate one message: violence or abuse towards colleagues will not be accepted under any circumstances.
The challenge was to raise awareness without sensationalism, ensuring the content felt credible, human and respectful of the people affected.
OUR APPROACH
We collaborated with PR and marketing agency Maxim to develop an animated campaign consisting of three short films. Each film is based on a real experience shared by a Stagecoach colleague, re enacted by an actor to protect identities while preserving authenticity.
Animation allowed us to handle sensitive subject matter with care, focusing attention on the impact of abuse rather than graphic detail. This approach created space for empathy and reflection, supporting Stagecoach’s wider commitment to colleague wellbeing and community responsibility.
Our role was to shape these stories with clarity and restraint, ensuring the message was unambiguous while remaining grounded in lived experience.
THE OUTCOME
The Zero Tolerance films were distributed on YouTube and re versioned with subtitles and multiple aspect ratios for use across social media.
The campaign gained significant regional coverage, featuring on BBC News and in local newspapers, helping to extend the message beyond Stagecoach’s own channels and into the wider community.
The result was a clear, consistent and human campaign that reinforced Stagecoach’s position: protecting colleagues is non negotiable, and respect is a shared responsibility.
