About me

I am Desislava Georgieva, an illustrator based in London, who specializes in narrative and book illustration. I usually work in traditional mediums, with ink, watercolor and acrylics, however I am also working on expanding my skills to digital art and experimenting with different styles and techniques. In both mediums, my strengths lie in beautifully crafted expressive characters, elaborate environments and dynamic compositions.

I draw a lot of inspiration from fairy and folk tales and legends from all over the world, as well as Victorian children's literature. I love bringing stories to life and aim to always be creative and attention-grabbing in all of my illustrative work, keeping a consistent drawing style, but doing something tailored to every unique project. I have previously worked on covers for middle-grade and children's novels.

I have graduated a BA degree in Illustration from the University of Lincoln, as well as a MA degree in Children's Literature: Children's Book Illustration from Goldsmiths, University of London.
