About me

Denny Tu serves as the Global Chief Marketing Officer at IMAX (NYSE: IMAX). He leads the company's brand, film, exhibition, digital marketing teams, and IMAX Creative- IMAX's in-house creative agency. He is responsible for growing the IMAX(R) brand commercially across over 83 countries globally, ensuring partners and audiences embrace the power of The IMAX Experience(R).

He has held a number of executive marketing and creative roles in media & entertainment, previously serving as Head of Strategy, Brand & Creative at Sky, Europe's largest entertainment company with 31,000+ employees, revenue of £13 billion, and 23 million customers across the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, and Austria.

Denny is a longtime advocate of diversity & inclusion in the corporate world. In June 2016, he was recognized in the Financial Times inaugural "100 Leading Ethnic Minorities Power List". In October 2016, he was published for the 3rd year by the Financial Times as one of the top 100 most influential, out LGBT business people in the world. He ranks #9 in The Telegraph's most recent Top 50 LGBT Executives List and #75 in The Guardian's Power Pride List.

He has served on the agency board for CTAM (Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing), is an active member of BAFTA & the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences as well as holding a 3-year mentorship at the American Film Institute's Digital Content Lab. He has been recognized with creative marketing industry distinctions including IPA, Telly, Cannes Lion, and D&AD awards.

A dual UK & US citizen, he serves on the Board of Trustees of Ditch The Label, Global Patron for London-based human rights charity Camden Forum and Advisory Board Member for The Economist's Pride & Prejudice Global Conference. He is now based in Los Angeles.
