About me

David Vaaknin is an editorial and commercial photographer, specializing in reportage, portrait, landscape, travel, and lifestyle photography. His clients include magazines, newspapers, travel companies, publishing companies, creative agencies, and content marketing agencies. He is currently based in Jerusalem, Israel, where he lives with his wife, Natalie.

A self-taught photographer, David took up photography in 2002, while traveling across the United States and South America for roughly two and a half years. He began his professional career in 2006, working as a photojournalist for leading Israeli media outlets, after making a decision to walk away from Physics studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in order to pursue photography full-time.

When he's not super-busy writing about himself in the third person, David tirelessly works to expand his collection of witty slogan t-shirts, enjoys binge-watching a good Nordic Noir TV series while wearing his fluffy Moose Slippers (weather permitting), and generally tries to avoid singing in public, due to his utter and complete lack of vocal talent.

Editorial and Commercial Clients include:

The Washington Post / The Wall Street Journal / The Sunday Times / Nature / Monocle / Pacific Standard / El PaĆs Semanal / U.S. News & World Report / Airbnb / Rhapsody Magazine / Institutional Investor / IBM Systems Magazine / EY Exceptional Magazine / Central Banking Journal / The Scientist Magazine / Quanta Magazine / ADAC Reisemagazin / hin&weg Reisemagazin / KNA Katholische Nachrichten-Agentur / WirtschaftsWoche / Die Weltwoche / Le Temps / National Arts Centre, Canada / Red Bull Media House / Ink Global / Wardour / Fattal Hotels
