About me

Hi, I'm David Tregoning, Creative Associate, Video Editor, Composer and Producer.
With nearly 20 years experience in the Post-Production industry I am currently working for a creative content company called Steam Motion & Sound in London, working on projects ranging from Commercials, Socials, trailers and music videos to longer-form content such as documentaries, live events and feature films. Over the past decade I've edited on 14 feature length films and hundreds of commercial campaigns, promos and trailers.

Music is my oxygen. As a composer and producer, I have written music for some of the world biggest IPs including Harry Potter, Stranger Things and The Lion King.

In 2006 I graduated from De Montfort University in Leicester, with a Batchelor of Arts degree (with honours) with my chosen area of study being Music Technology & Innovation. My specialised areas within Music Technology included digital audio production, studio engineering, sound design & image and creative composition.  Following my University studies, I pursued an avid interest in music and sound design for TV and film which eventually led me to audio/video editing via some work placements with the BBC in central London working in the Audio & Music Interactive department and also at Clear Cut Pictures Post Production facilities in west London, shadowing the BAFTA nominated dubbing mixer Danny Finn.

With a passion for rich story-telling, I enjoy creating and crafting stories and thinking of new ways to engage the viewer; working on projects from conception and shooting, right through to mastering and delivery. The result is fresh and exciting content with a strong creative for major international clients, produced in close collaboration with the directors, producers, designers, animators and clients to deliver compelling content that goes above and beyond the client's original brief.

Working in fast-paced environments I am able to think on my feet and work well under pressure, whilst always staying focused and keeping a keen eye on the detail. This along with my creativity, technical knowledge, experience, dedication and enthusiasm make me an invaluable part of any production team.

As a creative story-teller I always relish a new challenge, and I am more focused than ever to progress in my career and to work on new, exciting and challenging projects.
