About me
After completing my BA (hons) in Documentary photography at Newport, University of Wales, I moved to London where I undertook a post grad in Visual Communication at the prestigious London College of Communication. It is here [over the length of one year] that I gained invaluable skills and theoretical understanding in editorial / layout, typography & typesetting, book design & publishing, digital design and having the ability to take a project from concept through to finalisation whilst overcoming any obstacles with logical and practical thinking. All of these strengths can be found in my portfolio.
Second would be my documentary photography practice. This comes as a large
benefit to the job position offered; it means that I have a strong editing ability that
not only works with photo essays and photographic series but it also gives me a strong understanding of how, when and where an image can work to its full potential when juxtaposed with text, be it in print, on banners or on screen. Other pluses are of course sourcing [the right imagery that communicates and transcends the correct message], editing, photo batching, retouching, colour correcting and of course making imagery. But possibly the most important of all is that my practice is fundamentally grounded in the strength of good directional and conceptual skills.
If you are interested in working with me or hiring me, then please do not hesitate to contact me on the details provided.
Kind Regards,
David.
