About me

My name is David Simmonds and I am a fully qualified Graphic Designer with five and a half years experience, available for immediate start.

I have just returned to the UK after two and a half yeqrs of working in Sydney, Australia. My most recent position in Sydney was for a studio called Monster Creative, where I worked for 18 months. I started out as the sole graphic designer in this design/film studio but due to good work and self promotion we were able to expand, and by the time I left the company I was running a four man studio. I was working as Art Director for the studio, but was still very hands on in terms of mac operating. Art Directing gave me vital experience in concept work and working on shoots, both still and film, and the chance to work on several tv adverts. My first role in Sydney was at Landor & Associates, a worldwide branding house. This was a freelance position working on some huge accounts for clients such as Phillip Morris, Sony Ericcson and Olay. The work was fast paced and varied with work ranging from packaging, branding and advertising work.

I have always undertaken freelance work outside of my normal working hours and use this as a chance to push boundaries that sometimes cannot be moved in a conventional design job.
