About me

Hello!

I have been employed as a professional Graphic Designer for over 14 years, 12 of that with the Staffordshire Newsletter. I enjoy my work in design very much, and am passionate about creating eye-catching, quality designs.
As an employee of the Staffordshire Newsletter I created designs for the various publications within the company, including adverts, supplements, promotional material, web banners, skyscrapers and maps. I produced artwork from initial stages of design through to print for the Staffordshire Newsletter, Staffordshire Life, Your Wedding Planner and Homeworks. I also helped the Staffordshire County Council create the Taste of Staffordshire Eating out guide 2010.

I designed layouts to be taken to potential clients that weren't already advertising to help capture new business. I had an excellent relationship with customers (some asked for me personally, as they had been impressed with the work I had done for them previously). I feel I have a naturally approachable, flexible and professional manner. I managed and prioritised my own work load at the Stafford branch whilst being part of a larger team across the company, keeping to tight deadlines without compromising high standards. I also gave training to school leavers on work experience, and talked to pupils visiting the office as part of the Passport Aid to Learning about my role in Graphic Design.
Whilst working for Creative Colour 'n' Copy, I worked closely with customers, following either their ideas or creating fresh designs through to printing on the premises.
The programs I use on a day to day basis are Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkExpress. Presently I am undertaking the Home Learning College's Adobe recognised Dreamweaver and Flash CS5 course. I have completed 14 assignments so far, all with grade 'A's. I am very excited about furthering my skills in this area. I am actively designing websites for friends and family to gain experience.

I learn quickly, am capable of picking up new programs easily and relish any new challenges I should face. I also have basic IT knowledge should it ever be needed.
