Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in response to your advertised vacancy for the role of Studio Manager, as advertised on Creative Pool.

I am exceptionally organised and have over three years experience working and maintaining the workflow in a busy, contemporary design studio. I have excellent administration abilities and am able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while prioritising my workload. My oral and written communication skills are excellent and I demonstrate this on a daily basis in my current role at the British Film Institute. I am comfortable communicating with a range of people from all levels in this and other organisations. I have excellent written English, experience of copywriting and have proofed nearly every item that the BFI has published during my tenure.

I have advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills, good knowledge of Adobe InDesign and am familiar with Photoshop and updating websites through content management systems. I am a very quick learner and I am about to undertake a Photoshop course. I am adept at working in small, tight-knit teams, and have demonstrated this in my time at the BFI and elsewhere. I have worked closely with managers, designers, external suppliers and maintained a contact list of freelance suppliers to ensure things happen successfully and on time.

I firmly believe that a team of designers is best able to fulfil their creative potential when the unit feels like a family - working together but with room for individual flair, praise where deserved but freedom to protest, where everyone's ideas are valued and creative opportunities are available to all - an atmosphere that I strive to maintain whenever possible.
