About me
David James Elliott is a visual communicator with a strong interest in the marketing and branding sectors of the visual profession.
He has a great passion for fine art, and by transferring these traditional skills across to a design and communication platform, he has created a diverse and technical body of work.
David knew he had a talent for graphic design when he received 100% in his Graphic Products GCSE, being one of only 5 people in the country to achieve this.
His work commercial or educational, always reflects an element of his fun and ambitious personality. Towards the end of the degree he was nominated for a Young Entrepreneurship Award, as a nominee it gave him great confidence about his belief that he can and will be successful.
Davids first professional job was to re-brand and design a corporate identity for a bar and restaurant in Warwick. The bar was called Rumors and they were transitioning to the name of Alibi.
The Alibi project was one tremendous opportunity for him to show off his talent to a real client in the professional world. By working on the interior design of the restaurant, menu designs and the Alibi logo, David had a large range of work to showcase in just one building.
The second largest brief was for Warp Records, another YCN brief, where he developed a Point of Sale unit that would be placed in public spaces for direct marketing from the musician to the consumer. By using QR codes, the consumer can simply identify which social media platform they wish to view of the artist, and be directed there instantly with the use of a QR code reader.
David has learnt a great amount whilst studying at BIAD, mainly focusing his study towards Photoshop and Illustrator.
He has a great interest in motion graphics and 3D modeling, and therefore he learnt how to use Adobe After Effects, and more recently, Cinema 4D. David feels comfortable using Cinema 4D to the point where he has made short animations within the software package through to high quality 3D renders.
