About me
In June of 2007 I will have have been working the Web design industry for 7 years. I attended Glasgow Caledonian University in 1998 to 1999 and was awarded my bachelors degree with in that year of attendance. Previous to that I lived in Inverness in Scotland where I worked originally as a forester! Then I progressed to working freelance as a Graphic Designer, Dance Music DJ and Newspaper Columnist (I wrote a weekly column about music and entertainment I also had the occasional rant about local issues).
This sounds like quite departure, but I was always very musical and artistic (I had always been an accomplished illustrator), until the Dance-Music scene hit the highlands of Scotland in the mid 90s my only options at work were to become a forester, a welder or fisherman. It was my love of the art and design created for flyers and record sleeves that made me take the plunge and apply to college and art school in 1998.
I was accepted into the Third year of a BSc Graphic Design and Multimedia course at GCU and graduated the next year (1999), with a distinction. I worked freelance again after that for less than a year and was awarded a permanent position with 'Green Circle' in 1999. Unfortunately, by 2001, as with so many other companies at this time GC became bust. I decided to move to England and within three months I was working for Interdirect Ltd in Milton Keynes where I have been since. I feel I am not progressing in my current role and I am desperate for a new challenge.
