Dear lovely people at Purple.

It is my understanding that Purple currently have an opening for a retoucher to join the staff in London.

I would like to formally apply for the role as I think it could be a smart move for both my self looking forwards and I feel like I have a tremendous amount that Purple could benefit from.

At the moment aside from other photographic business projects, this year has seen my self grow into the world of the photographic magazine. While not being having a journalistic background, I used my craft as a photographer to get noticed and introduce myself to editors and staff writers. Since the beginning of 2011 my photography and copy has appeared in many of the best selling photographic titles. Outside of the printed press, I have many wonderful clients, happy and proud of our work together.

The chance to secure a full time role with such a wonderful company like Purple would be a great move for myself as this would enable me to concentrate my work in one direction while having the added benefits of an employer rather than being self employed. This would enable me to deliver to an even higher standard. I note that this position is simply for a photographer, but I can offer far more if needed while being able to quickly understand the unique challenges working for the print media.

Having great contacts inside the industry has already proved valuable, just as being trusted to deliver on time with images that exceed expectation. Recently Sigma asked my self to run a training /promotional day under the Sigma brand and N-Photo used myself in a 12 page feature on photographers in the fashion

industry. My last big personal project was a three week trip across five US states, working with many PR firms and magazines.

My personal portfolio is strong, unique and diverse. Ranging from timelapse films mixed with DSLR footage to large production fashion shoots with teams of staff. I can bring a wealth of experience, skill and vision to any project while keeping on task and on time. I have a wide knowledge of all the leading camera

manufactures and links with many of them or there representing PR firms.

Reading your list of requirements is comforting for myself as all points are comfortably within my skill ranges. Post production being a particular highlighted skill. (I have embedded links on the interactive version of this PDF, was designed and created by myself.

I do understand this what this role entails and I do see that my portfolio shows a narrower field of view than you maybe be looking for. But, I would say that my portfolio does show my ability. The professionalism and high standard is regularly translated in to work that is not shown on my portfolio but can be requested. By this I am referring to product shots, macro, simple basic light set ups etc.
