About me
I'm mainly a front-end coder using strict XHTML and CSS. Along the way I have become experienced in PHP/MyQL.
I design sites from scratch. Upon receiving a brief I start by drawing ideas, sites functions and navigational structure-I enjoy this phase. I tend to build my sites in the browser and when need to add graphics.
I find constructing sites in their own environment helps me iron out any kinks straight away and gives me a headsup to what the final version may look like. I personally think this also helps the client visualise their site, hovering over links and getting a feel for how it works. They have connection with a live build then from receiving emailed static designs. If the client does need to change anything then I simply edit the CSS file and its done-no need to open a graphics page-changes.
I build from content out. focusing on the pages content first, it creates better semantic markup. I'll be viewing the design in all browsers to see how it renders throughout, validating the code along the way. If need be I'll then add some Microformats to enrich the data, apply some typography and graphic design principles.I'm highly interested in making my sites accessible and that use web standards.
I'm always wanting to learn more, with some much more to understand and to get to grips with I'm enjoying the journey.
