About me
As a child River used to wet the fossils she found along the Jurassic coast so she could paint the vivid colours moisture brought out in the greys. Her craving for hidden colour expresses itself in her adult work through her minimal use of black, instead using different colours to present key.
Her moody use of palette varies from soft and tonal to bright and urban as she adapts palettes to represent tone and light, choosing colours on emotional semantics.
She strives to apply the clean qualities of graphic design to traditional artistic skills, using hand-rendered art as an aesthetic commodity with its own intrinsic value alongside and within her digital works.
