About me

Hi

My name is Danny Robertson and I'd like to apply for the role of assistant content producer. I believe I would be a great candidate for this position as I have a strong blend of experience in managing and supporting content production, both professionally and independently and this position is a fantastic opportunity for me to learn more and progress within an exciting company.

I am currently working as a development and production assistant and I most often work freelance at Just So Films. This position has allowed me to support producers across a number of projects for huge brands such as BBC, Vodafone, Sony Music and The Guardian, through pitching and initial creative development, through to production, post and delivery. I strongly developed my production skills, as every day I assisted many producers on a variety of projects, which requires good time management and prioritising to make sure tasks are finished on time and to the correct standard.

I also assisted in the company's work towards new business in their marketing and PR, producing content for social channels, assisting in awards entries, constructing client portfolios and helping produce materials for pitches. Accommodating clients, freelancers and visitors is an element that I have gained a lot of experience in, and is something I have taken real pleasure in doing and I have forged strong working relationships and friendships with those whom I've worked with. Please feel free to contact my referee, Sara, a producer at Just So, who I most often work with at the company.

In 2013, I graduated from Leeds University, where I achieved a 2:1 in Cinema and Photography (BA). I've also ran a filmmaking collective and produced award winning content for professional clients and my dissertation project. Each of these pieces of work I project managed within a small team. Often these films were ambitious in scale, which gave me strong experience in working and staying cool under pressure. Please take a look at my showreel (link in CV) to see what I have produced. Immediately after university, I spent a year at Epiphany, a digital marketing agency in Leeds as a trainee production/accounts assistant. I joined because I wanted to learn more about branded production and client interaction and I did through a year's experience divided between each of the agency's departments.

I know I have the necessary skills, experience and energy to bring this role. I I am at the stage in my career where I want to learn whilst supporting the production of great work and to be able to work and grow within a great team on exciting projects. This position's combined focus on content marketing and film production is extremely exciting to me and I'd love to chat further.

I hope you feel that I have the ability to match my enthusiasm for this opportunity. If you would like to talk further, the best time to contact me is weekdays, between 12-3pm.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours,

Danny Robertson
