About me

I'm Danny Barnard and looking to apply for the job as Motion Graphics Designer. I am a skilled video and motion graphics editor and have expert knowledge in After Effects, Final Cut Pro and Photoshop, along with other programs that I have listed in my CV. At University I studied animation in which I learned a wide range of in depth skills in post production. In 3rd year I focused my skills in editing, compositing, motion graphics and VFX. This year I launched my online music and art magazine, Octagon Octagon, as well as continue to run my own music PR company, All Teeth. Through these platforms I use digital media in innovative ways to explore and promote musicians and artists with visually exciting and engaging pieces. I work with record labels, artists, festivals and galleries to create high quality video content such as green screened live sessions, interviews and event coverage. During my internship at Rockfeedback TV/Love Live as well as encoding footage I edited interviews and live footage to be used on Channel 4's coverage of Primavera Festival. I worked as a runner on many shoots and operated a camera on some including one with Munford & Sons.

I'm used to working to deadlines and have a fast work rate. I have edited a lot of projects on my own so am used to solving technical issues and making editorial decisions but I also enjoy working as part of a team. Other than post production I'm also passionate about pre production, and last summer produced a promotional video for Standon Calling festival. I organized all the interviews with the bands and the rights to film their sets. I also planned all other aspects of the shoot including hiring the crew and gear. On the shoot I conducted all the interviews and looked after all the sound recording. I operated a camera during the live sets and for the festival shots and own my own Cannon 5D mark 2. I also did all aspects of the post production including editing and motion graphics.
