About me
Hello.
I am a London based designer / art worker and feel I would be very suitable for your advertised position. With over 9 years of practical experience in the design field across a variety of mediums I feel I have a firm grasp on the aesthetics, tools and trends of the industry. I like to think of information as a problem that can be understood and solved with considered design. 'Good' design is a balance where aesthetic and function elegantly meet the intended message. I grew up in Hong Kong in the early 80's, advertising and neon lights were everywhere, and it most certainly impacted me. The first time I used Adobe Photoshop was before 'layers' had been introduced. I'm a good team player; generally have a great rapport with colleges despite my slightly odd sense of humor. Rarely is there a 'perfect' solution to design, so communication and idea sharing makes for an engaging and successful process.
I am highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite/ Creative Cloud, with deep knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I currently intend on sitting the Adobe Certified Experts exams in said programs. I also have experience in many production programs such as Dreamweaver, Flash, After Effects, Encore and Sound editing. I have a good working knowledge of MS Office. I am hard working and enthusiastic, with a strong eye for detail and high quality results. I am very passionate about good, well-executed and functional design.
I have a great deal of experience in design, art working, typography and illustration, plus a very good knowledge of printing and die/plot cutting. Over the years I have worked on a huge variety of projects, everything from Annual reports, paginated booklets, to high end retouching. I have much experience working from tight briefs and following corporate brand guidelines and have done many projects involving rebranding and updating company style guides. Being a bit geeky I enjoy designing typefaces and illustrating in my free time. I have done packaging and POS work in the past. I love sharing and developing ideas and concepts with colleagues.
