PHOTOGRAPHY HISTORY

Daniela Justus has been studying photography since 2000, when she took her first course in Rio de Janeiro. Since then, she has consolidated both her skills and knowledge by studying in different schools in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but mainly at Ateliê da Imagem.

In November 2004, Daniela started to work primarily as a freelance portrait photographer. In 2005, she founded Babitonga Fotografia, a photography studio specialized in children's portraits.

In January 2007 Daniela moved to London. Since March 2007, she has been working for Venture Portraits doing lifestyle portrait photography and digital retouch. Along with children's portrait, Daniela has also developed more contemporary and conceptual photographic work, including: - The series "Then the Smoke Said...", which won the Hercule Florence Prize from the French Embassy in Rio de Janeiro. As a result, Daniela won a scholarship to Ateliê da Imagem. Some photos from this series were exhibited along with the work of nine other prizewinners at Casa França Brasil in May 2007.
