About me

My name is Danny Clark and I'm from London. I'm a 30 year old Graphic Designer currently working in the fitness industry but also with extensive experience in healthcare, experiential marketing, events, branding, fashion, and conferences.

I am currently employed by TRAINFITNESS based in Southwark. I have been with this organisation since April 2015. TRAINFITNESS provides the UK's most popular courses for Personal Trainers along with plenty of other fitness related qualifications. They also provide workout plans that are popular worldwide. I am responsible for graphic design based work online and offline. The range of design work I undertake at this company include branding, advertising, e-newsletters, brochures, website design, designs for events, video editing etc.

During my time at TRAINFITNESS I have learnt a great deal and have become ever more passionate about design. I have taught myself new and very useful skills such as web design (to more depth), video editing, some flash animation, and of course more experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign.

Another big experience for me is the workload, it is huge! But I am great with deadline planning and keen to stay late or come to the office early to ensure projects get done. Whilst I thoroughly enjoy my job I feel it is time to progress into a new work industry. I am looking for another company that really interests me. I am very passionate about sport, music and cooking so I would like to be in a similar industry.

Prior to TRAINFITNESS I worked for the Network for 2.5 years. They are a well established marketing company who set up high quality events for a lot of the big names in the travel industry and organise free distribution publications such as TimeOut, The Metro and The Evening Standard. I was responsible for branding, event design, advertisements, newsletters and helping out with creative marketing plans.

I obtained a BA Honours degree in Media and Business Management at St. Mary's University College and a Post Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design from the London College UCK, Notting Hill. In the last year I obtained a Level 3 qualification from Richmond College in Web design, where I learnt HTML coding, CSS, Dreamweaver and Flash.

I am an expert in using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro and Microsoft Office programmes although I'm always happy to be flexible in what systems I use, dependant on the needs and preferences of the client. I believe I have strong graphics, typesetting and typography skills along with the ability to come up with creative ideas. I also have a strong interest in photography and imagery.

Perhaps equally important as my technical expertise, I am a very hardworker and always handle deadline pressure well. I do this but starting the week with a structured spreadsheet setting out all my deadlines, listing the main priorities and when they are needed. I am also a very easy to person to get along with. Throughout my career I've built good relationships with a whole range of clients and colleagues. Some of my past colleagues still ask me to help out on design projects.

I believe I have an excellent eye for design and attention to detail. There have been occasions where I have found areas of improvement before close of play on some team projects, whether it's working with others or by myself. Even if it keeps me working after-hours the extra effort to achieve the best results are worth it!
