About me

Hello there, I am a Graphic Design graduate from Banbury. Having worked in Warwick for the past year as an in-house designer I am looking to move into an agency for a different challenge. As you can see from my CV I have some agency experience, so I wont be daunted by the task and feel my hard working, well-humoured approach will be an asset to any team.

To give you an insight into my life as a designer, the best thing I can say is that I designed my first website at the age of 10, by 15 I had a website that gathered 200 hits a day. Embarrassingly this was a wrestling website, I have since grown out of wrestling, but not out of designing.

Following on from web design I took National Diploma and BA (Hons) courses in Graphic Design, taking as much work experience as I could gather and spent my time at College and University soaking up all the information I needed to. Not only be a successful designer, but a knowledgeable one. I pick up technology extremely quickly, especially software, and like to continue to update my skills whilst adding new ones are regularly as I can. The newest being in email marketing, honing my coding skills to be able to deliver e-news to work cross-platform was quite a challenge, but one I am now completely capable of.

I pride myself in being able to create design for any purpose. As you will see from my portfolio, the work is not only professional and well considered, but I am able to cater for both serious and humorous projects from concept to finished artwork.

Being in a position of responsibility is not something I shy away from, in my current job I lead the way with several projects and at University I was responsible for the organisation of the graduate exhibition, taking care of everything from layout and design to media and catering.

Interactive design is something that really inspires me. Whilst I love working with print and layout, getting the audience to engage with a design is something that really interests me. In my portfolio you will see examples of this, and I wrote my dissertation on the subject. Augmented reality, pop up cards, flash gaming, even something as simple as drawing on top of the advert or placing the design out in its own environment. When it is done properly, for me, an interactive design is the most eye catching medium.

Its difficult for designers not long out of University to show they are right for the role, I have full confidence in myself in any situation and hopefully you can give me the chance to show what I'm made of. You won't regret it.
