About me

I'm an experienced team leader in picture and video production at an agency level. I have produced photography and video shoots for different uses, from press to PR to social media for clients of various sizes. Having actually also shot and edited both photography and video shoots myself for a number of years, I understand the technical aspects of any shoot. I have the ability to brainstorm ideas around a brief to ensure the desired results are achievable and also to make clients aware when things aren't always achievable that there may be another solution.

Using organisational tools such as trello, todoist and the google calendar I have been able to ensure myself and the team are able to track the progress of a production.

I have managed a daily budget for work carried out by external photographers in the past and ensured all admin and spreadsheets were updated at the end of each week. I managed the internal library of images and video via our content platforms and ensured there was a consistent easy work flow from creation to image delivery throughout the company and to external partners.

In my role as Picture Editor at two national news agencies I managed a team of staff across two offices in two cities so I understand the logistical issues of communicating properly and in advance of potential issues. I ran weekly picture desk meetings with picture desk staff, syndication desk staff and directors either in person or via video calls, ensuring the direction of the picture desk was clear for the following week and that there were tasks and objectives to be completed.

I managed a team of staff photographers day to day as well as a network of UK freelancers and occasional US freelancers whilst constantly looking to extend that network to be able to sustain the needs of the picture desk going forward.
