About me
I studied at the University of Portsmouth between where I gained a second class BA honours degree in Journalism, minoring in Media Studies. I learned about all aspects of Journalism while I was there, as well as the professional NCTJ syllabus along the way. This means I have complete knowledge and training of media law, news and feature writing, shorthand and interviewing techniques, as well as court reporting.
Whenever I had some spare time between studying, I undertook various work placements as an editorial intern at publications such as The Daily Telegraph, Portsmouth News, Greater London Authority and my local Merton Guardian. They have all helped to greatly improve and broaden my written and communicative skills and I was lucky to have been published in the Telegraph twice, and many times in the local Guardian. I believe that my previous work experience and education have demonstrated how far I have come in a short space of time and my motivation to succeed.
My most recent line of work involved spending the last six months working for a digital marketing agency. I worked as an intern at Bluepost Digital from July - December 2010 where I undertook duties as a copywriter and analyst, producing original pieces of work from words in length and spinning externally produced articles in order to boost clients online presence. I was also given the responsibility of compiling rankings and statistical data for some of the clients each week, as well as planning strategies for improving their online reach.
My interests include Technology, learning about new forms of media and football. I also enjoy going to the cinema regularly with friends and when I can, visiting famous sporting venues across Europe. I am a sociable individual and always eager to meet new people and try my hand at any kind of challenge given to me. I am also hard working and loyal, and will give everything in my role.
