Dear sir/madam,

The prospect of employing my technical skills in filmmaking for a video production company as the sole Video Editor of the in-house studio sounds like a remarkably interesting opportunity.

I am writing this letter to formally apply for the position advertised. I graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a first honours degree in Film Studies. My course specialised in the technical and creative aspects of filmmaking ranging from editing, filming, post-production, and development planning. Throughout the past months, I worked on different projects ranging from corporate video filmmaking, to independent short films, to webseries pilots.

However, these are all but words. I trust my portfolio will tell you more about myself than I would ever be capable of writing.

The showreel highlights in particular my visual storytelling skills, which I am able to adapt for whichver tone your projects might require. Hopefully it will also steal a chuckle or two.

Currently, I am based in Oxford. However, if given the opportunity to join your team, I would gladly relocate in London within a rather short period of time. I look forward to hear back from you and possibly arrange an interview date.
