I am contacting you to apply for the advertised Mid Weight Digital Producer position, as I have experience in a similar position working for e-Scholastic in New York (part of the Scholastic Books Corporation).
While at Scholastic, I worked as a Web Producer for their Teacher Channel, specifically managing sites whose products were designed to support literacy and reading intervention programmes - aimed at both teachers and parents. I was responsible for the online development of many trade print titles and Scholastic departments and would work with all of the various stakeholders throughout the project life cycle until its completion. This would involve developing a close working relationship with each of the project stakeholders and understanding their unique needs to develop the online presence that best served their requirements, while working within their specified budget and corresponding to the Scholastic template.
On completion of projects I would schedule recurring updates for the sites and keep all parties (clients, e-Scholastic management, design and coding department, freelancers) aware of these schedules. Site updates would commonly go live each day and I would also supervise many of the business owners to create and publish web pages through Scholastic's content management system. I would also provide feedback throughout the process to the Senior Producer and the e-Scholastic production team.

I left the company to return to the UK in 2009 but found the position to be a great entry-point into digital publishing and would be really excited for the chance to develop further for a publisher like OUP.
