About me

Dear Sir or Madam,

I recently completed a degree in Product Design and graduated with Honors with a respectable grade. Although I had artistic skill before I began my degree they were strengthened with the introduction of CAD programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign from the Adobe Creative Suite.

Through my course I completed individual and group projects where I learnt quickly to liaise with live clients including Virgin Atlantic, Dezac and Bluw in order to understand exactly what service they required. They were kept up to date with how their projects were being handled through all stages with the aid of personal and virtual presentations in which my artistic skills were indispensable. A lot of the projects overlapped meaning time management was crucial and I feel I successfully managed to complete all projects along with keeping a part time job.

In my 5 years with my current employer New Look (Holloway) I have successfully become a strong member of a small sales team comprised of 15 staff members including management, for this reason I was granted the opportunity to train as a Supervisor and Administrative worker for the company.

Through my workplace I have learned to work successfully within a team and this carried through into University where I was often required to work in a team as if we were a professional design agency. I have a strong passion for fashion as is evident in my loyalty to my company a growing worldwide fashion retailer and the fact that I chose to do a fashion related final year project which was unique in my particular degree course.

I am ambitious and self motivated which is evident in the fact that I strived to become an influential member in my sales team leading to the opportunity to become a member of management.

I was selected as 1 of 10 students to display my final year project at New Designers 2010 over 4 days to a vast amount of potential clients as well as interested members of the public. This gave me the opportunity to fully immerse myself into the world of exhibiting and selling my work to a varied audience.

I can assure you that I would be committed fully to your company. I feel my professional experience gained through my degree, industry knowledge in the fashion retail world and track record to date will make me a strong candidate for this role. I have attached a small portfolio of my work to this application to present my skills to you.
