About me

I have been employed for the past 4 years as a Graphic Designer for Simpson Direct, a direct marketing firm, having gained a degree in Graphic Arts from Liverpool John Moores University. The role comprises design skills in Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign. Designing print-ready artwork for world-wide markets. During my time working for Simpson Direct I have increased my knowledge base of the different software packages and the print processes used including the correct way to supply print ready artwork.

I have designed company stationary, handbook, web banners and the company Christmas cards. Recently I have designed animated banners for web adverts and email blasts, which demonstrates my willingness to be taught & learn new design practices, having come from a print based background. I would like to further my skills in the design for web. My passion for fashion, art & design can be seen on my pinterest boards (*/), where I regularly 'pin' beautiful items.

I possess the attributes required to work within a busy office environment, namely a friendly personality, good organisational skills and attention to detail. I enjoy working under my own initiative but I am also a keen team player.

Since 2008, I have been employed as a Graphic Designer at Simpson Direct, a direct marketing firm, based in Liverpool. I have designed a wide variety of direct mail products such as Laser Letters, A5 cards, fulfilment packs, brochures, inserts and the envelopes they would be sent in. The programs I have been working with daily include InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop., During my time working for Simpson Direct, I have not only learnt the different software packages used, but also the print processes and the correct way to supply print ready artwork. I also have a working knowledge of supplying artwork that contains personalisation, using fixed and variable text., Recently I have designed animated banners for web adverts and email blasts, which demonstrates my willingness to, be taught & learn new design practices, having come from a print based background.

2008 - Present - Simpson Direct, Liverpool, Graphic designer for a direct marketing firm. Using design skills in InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator. Designing printready artwork for world-wide markets and often providing them in different language, so I have knowledge of, working with foreign languages, including French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. This also includes having, to alter your design to fit the translation in and in addition to proof reading your work in English, also the foreign versions. I have also worked using Acrobat, Distiller & QuarkXPress. It is a varied role, adding to the direct mail,, I have also designed, company stationary, handbook, web banners and the company Christmas cards.
