About Craig
My main passion and occupation is illustration and graphic design. I chose to study in illustration because various illustrative styles and techniques had often caught my eye, whether it was an illustration accompanying an article in a magazine or on the cover of a record I had purchased, I had always been curious in how these pieces of artwork were created. I wanted to acquire the knowledge and skill for myself hoping that one day I would be able to create such illustrations.
My primary aim now as a designer is to help people understand complicated concepts by illustrating them in an easily comprehensible way, but I cannot do that without first understanding them myself. Thus, thorough research is the foundation for everything I do, and I never create images without knowing all there is to know about the subject first.
I create images using a wide variety of media. I approach each brief in a different manner so as to constantly challenge myself and give myself the opportunity to research and explore new areas of design. My experimental work often consists of line drawings and various prints. I try and let the drawings create themselves with every project I do and each time new influences manifest themselves into my work. As my final ideas start to become realised I use photoshop or illustrator to refine the artwork and add colour to the image. I am very passionate about creating artwork and the industry that I am involved in.
