About me
I have 15 years experience in digital media production which spans technical strategy and build of social media powered websites, marketing communications, interactive microsites as well as motion graphics for broadcast and media presentations. In 2002, I co-founded Raw Nerve, a design consultancy that helped brands and organisations build, nurture and engage with communities. Within eight years we became a leading consultancy with an international reputation.
I have a very broad range of technical and strategic expertise. Depending on the nature of the work I can delegate to a team or take on the entire project single-handedly. I have been responsible for directing, managing, supporting and training a core team of three and a network of over 50 internationally based freelance specialists across a range of digital media production services including: brand identity, print marketing, social media, content management systems, audio/video production, photography and events.
In order to ensure things run smoothly throughout the life-span of each project, I have been responsible for planning, budgeting, purchasing, recruitment, project management as well as liaison between our internal team and clients.
Among colleagues and clients I am known for my professionalism and conscientious approach. I am sensitive to the needs of my clients and team, offering support and discretion wherever needed. I pride myself at being self-motivated, self-disciplined and highly organised. For the past eight years I have worked in high-pressured environments with tight deadlines and even tighter budgets, absorbing and analysing complex problems to deliver cost-effective and efficiency boosting solutions.
My goal for each project is to get under the skin of the business objectives, communications requirements and recommend ways to increase efficiency. I write technical strategy briefs, design the information architecture wireframes and functional specifications for content management systems. I have a detailed working knowledge on how to leverage social media and newsletters to drive traffic and engagement with tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Youtube.
Over the past eight years I was responsible for the management of web publishing systems with both community generated and editorially managed content. I have been the first point of contact for public enquiries, and have managed communication with press, online communities and stakeholders and have create and commissioned original content.
I have directed design and development teams of over 10 people to deliver websites built with Flash and open source frameworks such as Drupal, CakePHP and WordPress. I have a good working knowledge of analysis and reporting for website and newsletter traffic.
