About me
I'm a freelance artist and illustrator working in traditional media. I completed an MA in Illustration in 2021 and my Illustration focus has been on imagery for cards and prints showing slightly caricatured Cotswold birds and wildlife. I also paint in oils and watercolour and use pen and ink extensively. My oil painting work is based on Cotswold landscape with a theme of woodland and wildflower meadows.
My freelance illustration work is quite wide and varied. I have worked on a variety of freelance projects such as neolithic and iron age reconstruction work, creating medieval style miniatures to capture key scenes from The Albigensian Crusade in France and The Battle of Stow during the English Civil War. I have been asked to create caricatured images of key buildings in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury for cards and prints.
I have a long term interest in interpreting narratives that include folklore and fantasy with a Victorian look and feel to the artwork. Recently I have been researching Victorian naturalist notebooks for an new project.
