About me

Resulting from an interesting and progressive career spanning eighteen years and experiencing every aspect

of the design and marketing industry, I now find it hard to pigeonhole myself as just a designer...

When I started there were no personal computers and hence no Quark or Photoshop!

Visuals were produced with Magic Markers to present to clients, so it was handy if you could draw!

Text was measured with a depth scale, artwork was pasted on boards with Cow Gum and you needed a

Grant Enlarger to produce Bromides.

During my career it has become imperative to own this new technology learn the software or get left behind.

The pre-computer experience I gained was never wasted, as even now I am asked to produce a marker visual

or to draw an illustration with pen and paper.

Whilst producing my first designs and concepts I began to realise the importance of a marketing strategy

or why you need a snappy headline, aim the piece at the right target audience, the necessity of a response

mechanism, a decent USP and much much more.

Over the years I have set up various design agencies and experienced all the joy and pain this entails.

Responsibilities like getting in new business to retaining the client or pitching the right marketing solution

for the clients budget etc.

All this has given me a deeper insight into the bigger design picture and will make me a valued and productive

addition to your agency.
