I have recently completed a contract working on the Mk2 upgrade for the Merlin helicopter. My role was to produce 3D imagery of all relevant graphics for classroom and online learning. Compiling in Flash format for client's final use. All hard edged 3D polygon and sub-patched modelling was of highly detailed mechanical assemblies, instrumentation panels and controls. The render engine used was Softimage's version of Mental Ray which is similarly used in Maya and Max. I produced all lighting rigs, shading and textures. With an SME alongside I often photographed Merlins and their equipment for reference material. My previous contract to that was of a similar role and my contract with Thales initiated a 5 year period of working in defence projects as a team player involving 3D graphics and Flash applications.

My previous experience includes studio and location photography working in medium format and 35mm SLR. I have attended a brief course in photographic studio lighting.

I worked for Marconi Software Solutions marketing team as their sole in-house designer producing all marketing collateral suitable for CMYK or digital large format printing, including all print purchasing and signing off of proofs.

In addition to being involved with the visual disciplines of signwriting, cartography, photography and the 2D/3D graphical design profession for at least 20 years, I hold a BA Hons in Fine Art.

I have even been contracted as an instructor in the print department at The Surrey Institute of Art and Design, Farnham. My main duties involved aiding students in the use of Photoshop software on Macs to produce print ready artwork or final digital prints on large format printers.

Although I've previously worked as a contractor and freelancer, I have also been employed full time and would be happy to be again, bringing the experience from a long and varied career.
