About me
I am a young creative graduate who is looking for a position within
Graphic Design.
I attended Newark College in Nottinghamshire where I studied a BTEC
National Diploma in Graphic Design at Level 3 gaining a triple
distinction award.
I studied a variety of aspects to Graphic Design, including
advertising, typography and corporate identity. I also studied
Photography, Media and life drawing, all of which are elements I can
incorporate into Graphic Design.
I have knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. These
are programs, which I have previously studied at college but continue
to increase my understanding of them in my own time.
Since leaving college I have tried to establish a position in which
I can develop a great understanding of the graphics industry but have
up to yet been unfortunate and therefore in the meantime have studied a
range of arts subjects to generate an understanding of the history
behind design.
I feel that a Graphic Design position in industry would suit me
better than one in further education, as I understand how difficult it
is to work full time in a busy environment and thrive off the
atmosphere and developing new relationships with co-workers.
I have previously worked in positions, which hold a large amount of
responsibility, not only for me but also for other co-workers, and I
believe I can work successfully, both on my own and as part of a
constructive team.
I believe I have a huge amount of enthusiasm and determination
needed to succeed in the industry.
I like the idea of learning at University however, I feel that I
would benefit more from learning on the job, learning all the basics of
industry first and working my way up.
I am very aware of the skills needed in this field of work.
Nevertheless, I am very enthusiastic to learn and further my knowledge,
understanding, skills and experience in a subject, in which I wish to
pursue a career.
I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss any
current or future vacancies you may have.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
Claire Larkin
