About me

Currently I am employed at FremantleMedia working on 'Escape to the Country' as a junior researcher. I am greatly enjoying the role as it has given me the opportunity to expand my skill set into all aspects of the production. Predominantly my role is researching for the 'housing stock overview' section of the programme where I am solely responsible for finding and checking the facts for property styles and prices of each county. I talk with estate agents, architects, building contractors and quarries in order to insure the research is as up to date and reliable as possible. I also help the location teams with house searches and securing house viewings with the vendors, this means organising schedules for the teams on location and ensuring release forms have been sent. Another part of my role is accompanying the contributor teams on their day recces where I help with interview set up and filming of the house tour and contributor hobbies. This aspect of my role has enabled me to improve my self-shooting and given me a good eye for unusual and interesting shots. I am also called upon to find VT's for the show, researching what is going on in the county that will work well on film and be interesting and relevant for the show.

Junior researcher for ‘Escape to the Country’., My role is to supply the housing styles of each county that the programme visits. I research specific styles of house along with the natural materials and methods of construction associated with the county., I work with estate agents to establish prices for these styles along with specific housing price information and fact checking for the county., I am solely responsible for ensuring all housing information in VO scripts is factually accurate before the final edit. I am constantly working to tight deadlines due to the fast paced nature of the production, making 75 shows per series., I am involved in the recces for the filming of the contributors in the “meet the buyers” section of the programme. During this time I have honed my self-shooting skills using the EX-1 Camera.
