About me
I have a strong and diverse professional history in design and an imaginative portfolio of work. From the Avant-guard to fantasy, and bizarre architectural space to mirrored mazes, I have a varied, exciting and a flexible approach to design.
In 2007 I graduated with a BA in Theatre Design from Saint Martins College of Art, but while studying I was an active designer specialising in spatial design for television. Most significantly I worked on ITV's Hell's Kitchen 2, transforming the empty Truman Brewery into a flourishing restaurant and kitchen.
Shortly after graduating, I teamed up with crew-company Showstars working in live performance that included large shows like the Brit Awards. Here I mastered working collaboratively with other set designers and crew in the fast-paced environment of set construction and LX.
Starting in 2006, I was an events designer for the London Metropolitan University and worked consistently with them for four years. It was at this time I was encouraged to push conceptual ideas and subsequently I focused my designs on material manipulation using reflective and sculptural forms. And as well as the event design duties, I was assigned as a management assistant; organising the night run of performing acts such as the celebrity performance of DJ Fern Cotton.
I was also trained as an events designer with Chillspace; an events company that offered me an education in upholstery, dressing, lighting, and bar construction. I spent time both within the workshop and on location, setting up corporate and private events all over the UK.
Recently, after my extensive training, I travelled to America to research nightclub interiors, and to explore interactive design and haptics within New York and Las Vegas clubs. In retrospect, this was an influential trip that has opened my eyes and stirred my creative juices. Now I have a keen interest in commercial interiors, which has become my prerogative for the future of my professional design work. And now, throughout London, a number of commercial spaces have been transformed with my particular style, which interweaves a theatrical aesthetic with a practical environment.
