About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I write to introduce myself. I am an experienced graphic design manager, seeking a new role that will provide both a personal challenge and logical professional step in my career. Having gained fantastic experience at Ernst & Young over the past eight' years in graphic design, communications, print production and brand management, I am excited by the prospect of taking on a new challenge.

During my career at Ernst & Young I have been promoted four times and held five different roles ranging from Business Development to Marketing and Communications. I my last role was UK & Ireland Strategic Pursuits Design Team Leader, managing a team of three graphic designers. Working closely with the Firm's Sales and Pursuits professionals to design campaigns which support and enhance Ernst & Young's sales proposition in competitive tenders. This was a high-profile, highly pressurised role, and our team was the most successful Sales and Pursuits team within the Firm's UK and Ireland business. During , we contributed to new business wins amounting to £72m in revenue, including securing significant projects for UK-listed and other global blue-chip companies. I was the lead designer on 20 pursuits, of which 16 were successful (equalling an 80% win rate, far exceeding my measurable target of 60%), generating over £30m in revenue.

During 2009 our Marketing team was responsible for the launch of the new Ernst & Young Global Visual Identity and Brand Positioning in the UK. Our core responsibility was to support the firm in achieving a strengthened, consistent brand. We offered practical guidance, support and training to colleagues and senior management on the brand and its new positioning within the business. My involvement was to manage the migration of projects over to the new positioning as seamlessly as possible, delivering on time and to budget. I have also worked on other high profile projects including Ernst & Young's Budget Response in the UK, as well as the Firm's outstanding Opportunities in Adversity Campaign (Winner of the Best Marketing Campaign 2009, Chartered Institute of Marketers, UK).

On a daily basis, I worked and interacted with people of all levels of seniority within the firm, from Managers through to Partners. I have provided on-site support on projects in Newcastle, Luton, Reading, Manchester and Dublin, and designed, organised and printed high-spec documents for colleagues based in Continental Europe, China, Japan and the United States.

I always seek opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge, and I have keenly undertaken privately funded graphics studies at London's Central St Martins College of Art and Design, London's School of Computer Education and London's Transmedia Communications. I have also undertaken study for two Digital Diplomas here in London, facilitating a transition over to Digital Media.
