To whom this may concern,
I am a graduate looking to gain experience within a company related to my degree in film studies. My particular interests include production and motion graphic design.
I have a continued interest in my subject field and wish to gain more experience in the field so that in the future I will look to progress further within the film industry. My future ambition is to have a career in the film industry.
I am writing to you to express my interest in the Video Content Designer position and to demonstrate why I am a strong candidate.
I am a confident visual artist who is capable of producing original content and can do so under pressure. An example of this is my experience in the production and distribution of a short film called Hollow. It was completed under tight time constraints as part of my University degree. I was in charge of the writing, filming, visual effects and marketing. Hollow was later released at two film festivals where it was successfully received by the public. This was huge step for me, as it was the first time I had the opportunity to show my skills and take full control of a film project. It taught me the importance of communication and gave me an understanding of hot scheduling. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience which I would not hesitate to be apart of again.
I have an extensive knowledge of various applications, in particular Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, AVID, Premiere and After Effects.
For me, technology is something that I have a keen passion in. Since my graduation I have taken part in various film projects. In one instance I operated a z7 camera, recording a live action set. This was a very special experience for me as it was the first time outside of University that I was a part of something I adored. I have also actively filmed (with a DSLR), edited and released a promotional video for Tru Nightclub on their social media pages. This generated a lot of traffic towards the social pages and increased sales for the following event. You can find the video and other work videos I have done in the following link: . From my perspective, this is a passion that I would look to follow as part of my future career plan as I believe I have the passion and drive to excel in the area.
I run my own small business called Intees. I not only design and manage the products I also control the social media pages. A year into the businesses release it has received a high volume of traffic and was titled Business of the Year by Enterprise.
I believe with my previous experiences in design I will be more than capable of adapting my skills into a variety of different scenarios.
Finally I wish to bring across that I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic worker and I believe that, if I were to be chosen for this role, I would bring a lot to your team and further the success within your company.
