About me

As you can see from my CV I have worked for several companies since 1998, working in various positions, from Artworker and Display Co-ordinator to Account Manager. I have gained valuable experience in the printing and finishing industries and have built up good relationships within the design industry, primarily with lithographic and digital printers, suppliers and magazine publishers.

Although I have worked primarily as an artworker for the past eight years, the positions I have enjoyed most have been those that have focused particularly on design work. I have aspirations of becoming designer and a large proportion of the projects I have been involved with recently have required me to undertake the kind of work usually carried out by a designer. I have a good understanding of page layouts, Photoshop filters and effects and am a good retoucher. I am also very familiar with the need for meticulous preparation when sending artwork for print; I have a large amount of experience setting format resolutions and colour profiles and am aware of the importance of getting this right first time.

A large proportion of my design experience has involved the design of menus and flyers for bars and restaurants. Whilst working in this area I have been given a large amount of freedom, as design in this field is constantly changing and not limited to a style sheet type environment.
