Dear Recruiter,
After having come across the ad post for Junior Fashion Creative, I quickly sat down to apply for the post, as this is a post that would fit in with my work skills and knowledge.
My work in my attached cv is perhaps presented in an unconventional way but I am firm believer that one should try to stand out of the crowd, especially when working within the creative visual field. Providing an edge to your work is substantial these days when everything seems to be image driven, especially within the fashion industry, something that I am fully aware of through my years of experience in the fashion industry.
I am currently working at 'Out There' magazine, working in the art department and assisting the art director on re-designing the magazine. My duties range from re designing current layouts whilst keeping in mind the magazine's existing market, and also working closely with the creative director on commissioning artwork for the written pieces. I have an extensive contact list of young fresh designers, illustrators as well as photographers, which I find extremely useful when commissioning work. I recently have also been taken in as one of the freelance photographers at Studio 33, Hearst Magazine's own photography studio.
In my own freelance work, I worked with a diverse group of clients, many of which were young designers commissioning me to art direct their collection. More often then not, this required me to manage all of the pre-production work from concept research, pitching of visual ideas, model/talent casting to the final retouching process. I call myself a creative all rounder, as I can come up with a creative concept, visualize and sell it to the client, and execute it, through the entire pre and post production phase.
I have well-honed visual and oral communicational skills and adopt creative team management methods. Education and training are essential to betters one skills and firmly believe that these are vital for one's professional growth. I am perceptive, outgoing, and approachable and always aim to bring an element of humour in my work environment. I love the use of illustration and extremely fond of good typography. I also have an impressive collection of magazines, but perhaps that is not too relevant here!
