About me

I have recently returned to the UK after spending four years in the Netherlands, where I had taken the opportunity to help a close friend develop his fledgling business. While having enjoyed the experience of life in another country and culture, I have since decided to return to the UK in order to find a job more suited to my skill set and personality, while being closer to family and friends.

Ideally, that job will be within the creative industries, particularly in a writing capacity - not only due to my academic and professional background but also a personal passion and talent for the creative, written process. I hold a Master's Degree in International Journalism and have endeavoured to undertake voluntary freelance writing projects, even when not in positions of paid writing or editorial work.

Outside of my professional experience, I have also played basketball at a high level for over 20 years, in three different countries. In recent years, I earned the Level 2 Coaching Award from England Basketball and the Level 3 equivalent in the Netherlands, where I coached teams at national youth level in the Dutch Basketball League. These experiences have opened many horizons for me, while teaching me the value of teamwork, leadership (and learning the best times to take the lead myself or when to let others do so) and has created bonds and friendships with a variety of people from different cultural backgrounds.
