About me
Iâ€(TM)m an excited, ideas-fuelled graphic design graduate of Shillington College. I am proficient in Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, and have a basic knowledge of Quark Express and Adobe Dreamweaver.I like contemporary, reductive design with a (sensibly heaped) tea spoon of personality. At Shillington College, briefs were realistic and no longer than two days, making us adept at working to tight deadlines. I work alone very comfortably, but in a collaborative studio environment is where I really shine. Using fresh ideas; charismatic presentation skills and an excellent grasp of demographics, I came out top for group work in my class.Along with my design skills, I am also a excellent creative and copy writer. For my degree I gained a 1st for my final year project, achieving a high 2:1 overall. Alongside my studies, I co-founded a student newspaper, which I organised, edited and co-designed. I also ran successful club nights, marketed a literary magazine, ran for two student elections, and was involved in Arthur Smithâ€(TM)s award-winning ‘ARTHURARTâ€(TM) exhibition. On graduating we sold the newspaper to the Student Union, who went on to employ me as a designer. In total I have produced 12 issues, with an average circulation of 4,000 copies. This experience has honed my skills for short, snappy copy, problem-solving in newspaper design, dealing with difficult clients and given me an eye for detail.
