About me

I am a Graduate from Newport University with a degree in Interactive Media. This has helped me develop my knowledge of software such as Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash

I currently work as part of a logo team at Adler manufacturing. The company produces business marketing gifts and sells them through direct marketing methods and sales.I am head of UK art and currently work with the Dubai, Denmark, Norway and Swedish markets.

My main roles at work include:

Leasing with staff and customers to make decisions on how a logo will look on a product and also if it will fit at all.

Sizing and reworking customer logos to fit on products.

Re-drawing bitmap and low quality files to Vector images.

Contacting other artists in Germany & America to specify customer's requirements.

Travelling to Germany to lease with my team to compare notes, techniques and problem resolving

Resolving smaller hardware & software issues in the UK office

Informing of and improving system issues with the USA I.T team

Guiding orders through entire process, from my initial logo designs, to the finished work in Germany and then through the factory. Sometimes the laser and stamping machines would not be able to reproduce designs and therefore would have to be reworked

Designing logos for companies that do not already have one

I began at the company as a customer service representative, where I was responsible for the following:

Processing customer orders for products in the UK

Dealing with customer complaints

Liaising with both staff and customers at all points during the manufacturing process.

Liaising with staff in America and Germany about the artwork process

Making sure orders arrive to customers in a timely manner and to a very high standard

Producing logos for companies

Documenting all returns to the office (credits and replacements)

Providing a solution for customers who are dissatisfied with the service

Speaking to sales reps by phone and in-person to discuss possibilities with different products or about any problems that may occur during production

Informing the factories of any rush orders, special delivery dates etc

I always communicate any relevant issue that I find, or am informed of by the reps and management, clearly. I have proven that I am able to follow instruction and am a dependable member of staff. I am a reliable, helpful and loyal member of the company. I have proved that I want to constantly challenge and improve my knowledge base, by trying to teach myself about the system in general. Since I joined the company I have been hard working and a team player. I am a quick learner and always strive to know every aspect of any job I am given. Also since starting at Adler I have been keen to take on more responsibility, for example taking on the job of UK Art Department.

During my time at university I created phone applications, illustrations, flash & html websites I am currently learning CSS and Java. I exhibited my work to the public on numerous occasions. On one occasion I created an interactive comic-book. The idea being that the project would look like a normal comic book (such as the ones found on I-devices) but during the experience users would need to interrogate characters with different outcomes, chose paths and make decisions on the best course of action. The users seem to thoroughly enjoy the project and I received very good feedback
In my spare time I have built and maintained my own computer systems using all manner of hardware and OS (XP, vista, windows 7, Mac OS). I currently have a home network setup. I keep both the computer and the network secure at all times (using Symantec and Norton products). All software is kept up-to-date and maintained carefully. I am able to troubleshoot issues with defective software, hardware and security breaches. I keep partial and full system backups both locally and online (i.e. on separate internal hardrive, external hardrive and online backup) so as to keep any data loss to an absolute minimum.

I have a keen interest in new technologies, computing and electronics in general. I enjoy exploring new software and hardware both personally and within a work environment. I am a keen graphic designer/illustrator in my spare time. I have created posters/advertising materials for events and bands, including my own.

I am a fairly active person. I enjoy watching and playing football and have supported Cardiff City FC ever since I was very young. I go out mountain biking with friends whenever the weather allows it and take part in Kung Fu training twice a week.

In summary, my education, personnel interests and aspects of my current job are suited to any position. As I am enthusiastic about computing in general, I would relish the chance to work in an environment that challenges me and includes my passion for new technologies. If provided with the tools to learn, I believe I could be a valued member of staff.

I am extremely friendly, positive, helpful and reliable. I like to think I have the ability to encourage people and create a positive environment.

I thrive on being challenged and am a firm believer that there is always something new to learn.
