About me

Hi, I am a 29 year old designer looking for a new challenge.

For the past 5 years I have worked in the packaging industry as a
Creative Designer / Artworker, creating artwork for the in-house litho
press. (Heidelberg Speedmaster 6 col UV Press)

After 18 months in the studio I was promoted to Manager, my roles
included, creating print ready artwork from supplied files, taking
briefs from the clients and help bring their ideas to life through
creative design, Sample making & Mock up's via the use of
CADCAM, maintenance of the Macs and other systems in the studio,
managing work loads to meet deadlines, invoicing and the general day to
day running of the studio.

I am fully proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 4, Quark Xpress and
Freehand, as well as some CADCAM software. I have strong type setting
skills a good eye for detail for what works and makes my clients
project stand out from the rest, I also hold qualifications in
photography and I persue this as one of my favourite hobbies.

Due to all processes of manufacturing being in-house I have spent
alot of time around litho presses, cut crease, and glue machines
allowing me to follow jobs through from creation to compleation,
learning about potential problems and ways to over come them, also
special print processes for example, metalic inks, spot colours, spot
uv varnishes, embossing & foil blocking, all on a range of
materials from solid carton board, metallic boards and plastics.

After 5 years, I feel it is time for me to build further onto my
skills and embark on a new challenge.
