About me
Dear Sir/Madam
My name is Chris Christodoulou. My previous and recent experiences have made me a strong and eligible candidate for your current opening position. I have the solid graphic design experience you require as well as the strong computer skills.
Dare I admit I might be one of the most hard working and passionate designers you have ever met. In 2007 I graduated from Birmingham Institute of Art & Design of BCU with First Class honours in BA (Hons) Visual Communication and in 2008 with Distinction in MA Visual Communication. During my university studies I have been deeply involved in the Fashion Branding and Gaming field.
As a Graphic Designer, I can offer your company expertise that will meet your needs. In 2007, two of my advertising campaigns for Inspirations by Tonia K, a luxury bijoux and fashion accessories were published in the summer and winter Harpers Bazaar Cyprus issue. I was also one of the exhibiting graduates for the D&AD New Blood Exhibitionin London. In November 2008, I was on a placement with Peers Hardy and specifically working on the Kahunafashion brand, where I produced a number of t-shirt designs and ads for the watches, targeting GQ and FHM magazines. The brand is based on the Hawaiian heritage therefore the designs reflected that essence. My designs impressed the creative directors which they decided to have them featured on their products and accessories.
Also I was on a freelance based placement at Fluid where I produced the box art and print ad for the PSPgame OBSCURE: THE AFTERMATH by Playlogic. The game was released in US, UK and Europe during September and October 2009. During these placements I was heavily involved with many anchor projects. During this placement, I have further developed my problem solving skills and managed to produce strong visuals in a relatively short amount of time. My technical skills have improved immensely as the ability to contribute creatively as a part of the team. Now I am more flexible, versatile and earned the advantage of seeing things in a different perspective, in a more creative point of view where I take my projects further and develop visual solutions that go beyond the aesthetic image.
Since February of 2010 I have been working as a Fashion Graphic Designer for the company THE BRAND FORUM. I have worked for customers such as NEXT, House of Fraser, BIBA, BANK, USC, REPUBLIC, JOE BROWNS, RIVER ISLAND, MISS SELFRIDGE. My role is to produce print artworks, embellishments, appliqué and embroidery designs for the customer's collections in both men's and women's wear. I am also producing some of the customer's labels branding range, from swing tags/swing tickets to back neck prints/labels etc. as designing logos for their clothing line. In 2010 I attended the Premiere Vision Exhibition in Paris which is the biggest fabric exhibition worldwide.
Even though I am on a full time based job I am carrying on expanding my horizons and portfolio by working on external freelance projects. Some of my most exciting projects are the logo design for Ara Jo, a London based Fashion Designer whose designs have been worn by celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Leona Lewis, Jamelia. Also, the poster designs and promotional items for the J Model Management fashion shows. The shows took place at Savoy Hotel, Birmingham Council House & Art Gallery among other Luxury Venues and showcase the latest collections from top London, Paris, New York, and Milan fashion week designers like Paul Costelloe, Jaeger, Charlotte Sparre, and Mirco Giovannini as well as other high fashion brands like Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger. Vogue Italia, The Independent, Insight and Elite magazines featured my posters. These briefs need to be produced in a relatively short period of time where I demonstrate my ability to work under pressure and perform efficiently.
However, I feel that it is about time for me to take the next step, get out there and start exploring the world of design in its different forms.
My strong personality would make a great addition to your creative team. I hope this letter provides sufficient information about me and my skills.Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hear from you soon.
Kind Regards,
Chris Christodoulou
