About me

My name is Chris Benfield and I have currently finished studying a graphic design degree (BA Hons) at the University Of Gloucestershire, and graduated with a first class honours degree.

Although I am a graduate straight of school, I feel my experience and schooling in design has provided with me with the right outlook for beginning a career in design, and a way of looking at the world that I feel fits in with the design ethos, aesthetic and culture of a design studio. Studying graphic design was not only a career option, but more of a personal passion which I carried out. I have gained an intense eye for detail, experienced the importance of communication, attention to detail and simplicity, and also one of the most important aspects of being a designer; a passion for the subject itself.

I feel that my previous experience in retail, combined with my recent education and passion for design, could potentially make me a valuable asset to a design studio environment, even if for a few weeks of work experience or an internship.

Although graphic design is the career choice I want to carry out, I have experience writing for one of the UK's most popular online fashion/culture magazines thedailystreet.co.uk. Through writing for the website, I have gained valuable experience in dealing with clients through email, such as Nike, Adidas, Converse, Vans and Puma, developing my writing skills, being responsible of providing information to a readership, independent researching, and overseeing other writers posts as an editor. I feel the experience contributes to many aspects of how a busy design studio is run, giving me a hands on experience that prepares me well for that kind of working environment.
