I am looking for a design role. I have a First Class BA(Hons) in fashion design from the University of Westminster. During my placement year, I completed internships at James Long, Iceberg, E.Tautz and since my graduation, I have worked on the menswear team at Louis Vuitton.
I am a hard working and flexible individual, who is skilled with both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Working across multiple European languages effectively at Louis Vuitton, Iceberg and James Long demonstrates that I have strong communication skills. With Louis Vuitton, I would liaise with the factories, garment technologists and RTW to ensure correct production, construction, materials and graphic placement. I would also be in contact with the marketing team discussing ideas and design developments. Working for James Long and Iceberg simultaneously meant I had to be highly organized to enable me to work to exceptionally tight deadlines effectively. Similarly, working towards the shows and the fittings for each of these brands shows my ability to so. Louis Vuitton had a database which I was responsible for keeping organized and updated for the footwear department. I was also responsible for organizing and updating the design development boards to make them accessible for meetings and other departments.
I can also offer great design research and design development skills which I have developed during my degree and through my internships. It included both imagery and exhibitions for inspiration. I also have a passion for sourcing garments and materials. Subsequently, I would update research boards so they were easily accessible to the team.
Throughout my internships, I worked in relatively small teams. Due to this, I was given the opportunity to design garments, footwear, accessories and graphics, which were then later developed with senior designers at each brand. At Louis Vuitton, I created sketches and subsequently used Adobe Photoshop to create Photoshop illustrations, renderings and to develop the designs further. I used Adobe Illustrator across all of my internships for technical drawings and tech packs. Pattern cutting, making swatches and mockups was an important role of mine at E. Tautz. It was the way in which we would develop the designs and patterns prior to production. I also have plenty of experience of this from university.
My work for my employers has been showcased at London Collection, PFW and MFW. In addition to this, my final graduate collection has been showcased on Vogue and Vogue Italia. In the near future, it will be displayed in the Flow House Magazine. Since university, I have been represented by the CFDA. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and demonstrate the value that I can bring to this role.
