About me

To whom it may concern,

My name is Chloe Roberts. I am a 23 year old with a passion for television production, and ambitions to work for you as Assistant Producer. If you would allow me two minutes of your time, I will explain why I think I'm worth a shot.

I have an innate curiosity for the world around me. It earned me a degree in Philosophy, it is why I love documentary films and it is why I have tried to see as much of the world as I can. Most importantly, it has fuelled my career ambitions. On graduation, I considered the various options that would indulge my enthusiasm for learning. The TV industry was the clear winner. Experience as a day runner for the X Factor ignited an interest in the production of fast-paced and high profile programmes. This, coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit and appetite for risk, led me to become a co-founder of a production company at the age of 22; Filterview Media.

At Filterview Media, we created original and thought-provoking online video content for a demographic of students and young professionals (18-35 years). We were constantly brainstorming new, exciting and interesting ideas, which entertained my passion for storytelling and discovering weird, wacky, controversial, but fundamentally interesting, people. I produced a range of videos, from mini docs and corporate films, to features for the UK's largest digital student magazine (contracted as their sole video content provider). Stories varied from a day with the notorious Muslim preacher Anjem Choudary, to filming the Miss England final. In addition to creativity, the role required impeccable organisation skills, hard work, and huge amounts of energy to ensure that all aspects of the business were running efficiently. I adore being involved in creative projects and, being somewhat of a perfectionist, I relished the opportunity to seeing a project through from start to finish with using the best of my ability.

"Doing it yourself" (for want of a better phrase) has taught me a vast amount about both the production and digital worlds. Getting stuck into multiple projects, whilst ensuring the smooth running of business operations, has accelerated my learning in a way I could never have imagined. I am now, however, in a position whereby I want to take my skills and enthusiasm a step further. I want to develop and learn from the best, be part of an experienced team and put everything I have learnt to good use.

Thank you in advance for your time. I have attached my CV and look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Chloe Roberts
