About me
I have recently just finished my degree in theatre design with a first class honours.
I have from a young age had a passion for art and design, and originally studied interior architecture, finding the course was not for me and felt i wanted to be more creative, using my love for interior spaces and architectual inspiration i took this into theatre where i was able to thrive on my passion and have a wider field incorporating many aspects from film, lighting, furniture, history, literature, photography, costume and fabrics.
My final project enabled me to explore and interlink my passions. I chose a sitespecific project which alowed me a chosen historical derelict silk mill, an amazing space inside and to theatrically finish i adapted an historical novel to fit within the site, with set and costume designs and a performance that feels it should belong to the site.
I have work experience from scene and surface painting, shadowing an architect, working in the props deparment on a film set at pinewood studios. Designed costumes for the Birmingham Royal Ballet. made a short film, designed set and costume in collaboration with dance students and i am currently the designer for The Birmingham Music Makers as the set designer and costume detail for an Opera. I am really interested to open doors to other design works.
I am a confident person, i can work in a team and also as an individual, i like to listen, and learn from others, be excited about something and work towards that.
