About me

I am writing in regard to the position of part-time or full time job as a Product Design region work. I am an enthusiastic product designer, recently graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a Master's degree in Industrial Design. A creative individual with the initiative to work independently, and a proven team player who works well in a group. With 3.5 year comprehensive design work experience, skills include 2D and 3D modelling, graphic design, and sound communication skills.

During , I worked for USI (Universal Scientific Industrial Co., Ltd.) in Taiwan and my principal job function was product designer. I did the design research, sketch, 2D, 3D rendering, 3D modelling, choosing materials, and checking prototypes. I also worked closely with the hardware, software and mechanical engineers. I learn to communicate effectively across the departments. I have good skills in Pro/E (Pro/Engineer), C4D (Cinema 4D), Corel Draw and Photoshop.

The MA allowed me to expand my product knowledge into the homewares market. I developed a more conceptual approach to design with my major project focusing on the diverse cultures of "East & West". The outcomes are a series of flexible containers for everyday storage.

During the MA, I joined the "Xerox University Challenge" in 2007 which was a project to design an application for the Multi Functional Printer (MFP) printer. Every team had to think of creative, imaginative, and feasible ways to add value to the MFP. The time was limited and the team work was strong. Our team won the competition.

During my time in the UK, I have travelled to the EU and USA. In 2007, I took the opportunity to spend a month learning various crafts on a placement in Slovakia. It was a great chance to learn the traditional craft skills such as woodcarving, artistic wirework, laces done with copper wire, macramé and marqueterie. Also to live in a different country and see the different culture was a valuable experience.
