About me
I am a graduate of the University of Reading where I achieved a 2:1 in BA Film and I would like to express my interest in applying for the Junior Video editor role at NOWNESS. My degree has given me a familiarity with programs such as Microsoft Office and Final Cut Pro. It has equipped me with the ability to think critically and process complex information and the organisational skills to adhere to strict deadlines. Prior to this, I gained a distinction from a Creative Media Production course where I not only developed on my writing skills, analytic skills and knowledge on all forms of media, but I've developed my organisational, editing and filming skills partaking in modules. I have also worked in the hospitality and retail sectors where I regularly provided high class customer service to clients. These experiences have strengthened my verbal communication skills, both with colleagues and clients whilst ensuring that I can handle high pressure situations whilst creating and maintaining strong relationships between them.
I'm a hard-working, creative individual who has demonstrated working to a brief for corporate videos and advertisements such as Parcel Force, as part of a college module. This has allowed me to develop an understanding of what goes into making suitable advertisements that reach out to the chosen demographics. I had a vital role in the scriptwriting to ensure Parcel Force's mission and values were voiced throughout the script. I was also assistant director on the shoot which strengthened my leadership skills amongst the crew. Throughout the project I showed 100% commitment to the task and to the team which is essential in working in a production in order for things to run smoothly. I am able to stay organised and focused with an attention to every part of a production I've been delegated to - recently I've had an internship with Festival Republic as a videographer and have to collate all the footage I have to present to University of Reading Open Day attendees in the hopes that it compels them to attend the university in the 2020/21 season.
I'm building my social media management - although I frequently use social media to showcase my photography, I am currently taking a Google online course to help me strengthen my knowledge and become more aware of how to use it to my advantage. My hours are flexible, so I'll be able to work when needed. I hope that you will be able to see my potential at NOWNESS and how I can be of assistance to the team. I'm available to start immediately.
