About me

Hi there

I'm highly enthused when it comes to Android, and have had an interest in the mobile powered operating system since the first Android powered phone, the HTC Dream (aka T-Mobile G1) having purchased one, pretty much at release. I've only recently endeavoured in app development functionally, but have poked around in Eclipse for a very long time. Now I'm now using Android Studio which is typical with the SDK Bundle, but I am very adaptable, and could happily work in any IDE.

I recently built a website to publicise blog articles regarding all things Android, from How To's to 'cool' things relating to Android. Although it is still in early development, and I am trying to add content as regularly as possible. I implore you to read an article that I have written, as it is a great demonstration of my dedication to research, my ability to communicate with others, and my drive for all things Android. The website was also designed to promote Android apps I have developed (unfortunately, working outside of typical work hours leaves me little time to delve further, and I have only released 1 app so far). None the less, I am a very fast learner and retain knowledge very well.

I currently work for a performance testing company, where we liaise with clients (often large, conglomerate businesses) and consult on their networks - highlighting bottlenecks and vulnerabilities in their infrastructure. Although this is fairly rewarding, and I get to look at a lot of new technologies, meaning I am always learning new, modern or bespoke things, my heart rests with app and mobile development.

I am very much a people-person, and find that the best way to productive and efficient work (within a team) requires strong bond relationships with colleagues. That's not to say that I don't work well on my own volition, because I excel at solo work, and often complete tasks much quicker than expected.

I am a member of Mensa, and have been since the age of 11. I am a carer for my older, handicapped brother. I can demonstrate exceptional ability to adapt to change, and enjoy new challenges. Although I've never worked with virtual reality before, I think it will be a great achievement and will get a lot of satisfaction aiding the advancements of tomorrow's technologies.

I would be honoured if you were to consider me for the role.

Kind Regards

Chester Gardner
